Final Evaluation of the 2007-2011 ZUNDAF

The Zimbabwe United Nations Development Framework (ZUNDAF) is a crucial instrument that serves as a strategic planning framework for the United Nations in Zimbabwe in partnering with the Government of Zimbabwe in achieving national development priorities and the Millennium Development Goals.

Addressing the final ZUNDAF 2007-2011 evaluation validation workshop held in Harare on 23 November, Dr. Tambashe who is also the UNFPA Resident Representative  said the evaluation workshop was useful because its findings would influence the next UNDAF 2012-2015 cycle, “improving ZUNDAF’s relevance and contributions to overall national development priorities.”

The evaluation, conducted by two consultants, was also aimed at assessing how the ZUNDAF helped UN agencies contribute more effectively and efficiently to national development efforts and capacity building. After five weeks of data collection and assessment, the final evaluation culminated in a validation workshop on 23 November, co-chaired by the Deputy Chief Secretary of the Office of the President and Cabinet, Ray Ndhlukula, and the acting RC.

It was facilitated by UNDG Regional Evaluation Advisor, Dr. Backson Sibanda and attended by representatives from Government of Zimbabwe, the United Nations Country Team, donors, and CSOs. During the workshop, participants reviewed and refined the evaluation’s findings and planned for the implementation of its recommendations. The final evaluation marked the conclusion of the 2007-2011 ZUNDAF cycle. The evaluation exercise was conducted in collaboration with the Government.
