UN Provides Government and UN Personnel with an Enhanced Technique to Manage Development Results

The UN Resident Coordinator’s Office, in collaboration with the Office of the President and Cabinet of the Republic of Zimbabwe, facilitated a training on Result Based Management and Human Rights Approach to Development for Government and UN personnel. The training was facilitated by the Regional UN Development Group Team and held from 3-7 September 2012 at Chengeta Lodge.

The objective of the workshop was to enhance the capacities of UN and Government actors that are engaged in the day to day management and coordination of the Zimbabwe United Nations Assistance Framework (ZUNDAF) 2012-2015 implementation.

In her opening remarks, Dr Perpetua Gumbo, Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet said, “Our gathering for the training on monitoring and evaluation, with special focus on Result Based Management and Human Rights Approach, is to capacitate ZUNDAF Thematic Groups so that they are able to craft goals, outputs and outcomes that are vertically linked to the national priorities and management for development results principles.”

She thanked the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office for organizing a well-timed and first of its kind training.  The training contributed to enhancing capacities which ensure that ZUNDAF outcomes are achieved in support of National Development Priorities and the MDGs.
