Zimbabwe CAP Mid-Year Review Kicks Off

On 15 May Humanitarian Agencies in Zimbabwe held a one day workshop in Harare to jump-start the 2012 Consolidated Appeal Process (CAP) Mid-Year Review (MYR). 

Click to view photos from the event.During the opening of the workshop, the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Mr. Alain Noudehou said, “This Review provides us with an opportunity to assess how well we have done in raising resources and to take a closer look at the current situation in the country and to chart a way forward on our humanitarian and recovery efforts for the reminder of the year.”

The Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator further noted, “These prevailing humanitarian situation calls for careful planning and close collaboration between the government and humanitarians actors to ensure that effective and innovative solutions are found.” 

The 2012 CAP, launched at the end of last year requesting US$ 268 million, serves both as a resource mobilization instrument and a planning tool. 

The purpose of the CAP Mid-Year Review is to adapt the strategy, objectives, operational work plan and projects to any significant change in needs or context. In addition, it allows for humanitarian actors to report on challenges and accomplishments and seek additional funding in the second half of the year.
